Aloha ,
In my last newsletter I shared some AI pictures that I made which had unexpectedly resulted in a weight loss of 10 pounds without diet or exercise changes, because I was aligning with images of my ideal
body.
I got a lot of inspiring feedback about that point, and I want to dig in a bit more.
We’re shaping our bodies moment by moment, with our thoughts, with our minds, and with
what we consume visually. This includes the response we have to the image we see in the mirror every day.
What do you say to yourself when you see your body in a mirror? Pay attention because it matters- literally.
The body doesn’t operate independently. It responds directly to the thoughts we think, the emotions we feel, and the beliefs we hold, especially the ones we repeat the most. Those patterns become chemical messages, directing how our cells function, how we heal, how we age, and how we feel.
Your perception is signaling your DNA. Your body is an incredible, living, responsive technology that responds to every signal you send, even when you absent-mindedly say things like “I’m tired”, “I’m sick” or “that was stupid” your body is listening and constantly recreating itself to align with the messages you are sending. AND it is your
greatest ally; it is only trying to please you and give you what you are asking.
It’s responding to YOU.
I believe
that aging is largely a product of what we are shown in society. We have a common idea embedded into our collective conscience about what “elderly” looks like, feels like, and how it affects the body. But is it true? I often see examples of people in their 80’s and higher who are youthful and vibrant, and I think “Wow, they are so fit for their age”. And that thought right there shows the expectation that they should not be “so fit” at
“their age”.
I have a game for you, if you’re willing to play along…find some pictures of yourself at your ideal age and ideal fitness. Put those pictures up where you can see them. Maybe on a mirror. Then start to see yourself as that ideal and affirm how good you look and feel
every time you see the pictures. Watch how it affects you. It may be subtle at first, but it will certainly have an impact on your future self.
The self you see in the mirror today is a product of your past. You get to choose the self you are creating for your
future.
